    Upon holding option key on boot, my recovery drive shows, and nothing else. the download contained only a dmg file and i used TransMac on windows to create the bootable usb. Except the last supported OS for my mac is El Capitan, which is the ONLY OS that cant be downloaded from Apple's website (why? thats really stupid), so i downloaded the install dmg from a 3rd party site. So I attempted to make a bootable USB drive.

    I made the terrible mistake of wiping my drive so i could sell the mac, and realized i cannot reinstall OS x without being the original owner of the mac.
